The Martin Memorial Cancer Center Infusion Suite provides patients with
chemotherapy
and medical infusion services in a
comfortable, calm setting. The infusion suite is located
on the third floor of the Martin Memorial Cancer Center and overlooks
the St. Lucie River. Eight comfortable chairs allow
patients to receive treatment in a relaxed
private setting.The caring staff
in the infusion suite administer chemotherapy, intravenous (IV) and
intramuscular (IM) medications, and
blood transfusions, insert and care
for PICC lines
(arm IV access), and provide infusaport and central line catheter care.
Our care
includes:
Cancer-Specific Treatments
- Chemotherapy drugs to fight cancer
- Medications to fight anemia during
cancer treatments, such as Aranesp
- Medications to combat low white
blood cell counts during cancer treatments, such as Neupogen
- Medications to prevent nausea during
cancer treatments, such as Zofran
- Treatments for bone metastasis
(spread of cancer to bones) from breast or prostate cancer, such as
Aredia or Zometa
- Treatments for multiple myeloma
(cancerous plasma cells in the blood), such as Aredia or Zometa
