I've just found a lump, what should I do?
It is very important to have the lump evaluation for a medical doctor or
nurse practitioner. This involves a doctor's examination, a mammogram, and
if necessary an ultrasound. Then, if indicated, the doctor may refer you
to see a surgeon for a consultation and possible biopsy. It is also
important to have any unusual problems (such as nipple discharge) evaluated.
