Grant Fund Opportunity
The South Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is proud to announce
the availability of grant funds for fiscal year 04/01/2010 to 03/31/2011.
Applications for breast cancer and breast health programs from nonprofit
organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions in Palm Beach,
Martin and St. Lucie counties are eligible for funding.
Please note special consideration will be given to those nonprofit organizations
that meet the funding priorities listed in the RFA
The promise of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is save lives and end breast cancer
forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for everyone and energizing
science to find the cure. The Organization runs one of the most innovative,
responsive grant programs in breast cancer today. The Komen South Florida
Affiliate is proud to have sent over $460,000 to the Komen Grants Program for
research in 2008/2009. In addition to funding research, the Affiliate funds
non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and breast cancer
screening and treatment projects for the medically underserved in Palm Beach,
Martin and St. Lucie counties. In 2008/2009, we awarded $1.2 million to local
community programs.
Our grant cycle runs from 04/01/2010 through 03/31/2011. Eligible applications
must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009. Announcements of
funding will be made on 04/01/2010.

The Affiliate will be holding two grant writing workshops, the first one will be
on Wednesday, October 7th from 6 - 8 p.m. at Good Samaritan Medical Center and
the second one is at Martin Memorial Cancer Center on Tuesday October 13th, from
